Becoming a member of Flo’s – The Place in the Park

Flo’s was set up to be a community hub, owned and cared for by the local community.

By becoming a member you are supporting the work of Flo’s and helping it to flourish. Members have a say in how Flo’s operates day-to-day and how it develops in the future. Members are invited to attend Flo’s Annual General Meeting and can vote on the decisions discussed there. We will also hold regular Membership Forums which will be a space for members to hear how the project is going and share ideas.

Membership is quick and simple to apply for – simply complete our online application form, which should take about 5 minutes. To become a member of Flo’s – The Place in the Park, click the Join Us/Renew button below.

Our next AGM will be held on September 27th 2024.

Annual costs
Flo’s membership costs £5 per year. Our aim is to keep it as affordable as possible and encourage everyone to participate. We welcome additional donations from those who can!

In the first year this £5 includes a £1 share in Flo’s – your contribution to the ownership of Flo’s – plus a £4 subscription fee. Your £1 share does not earn any interest. After a year you will be asked to renew your membership, and the annual subscription will then be £5.

Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your membership you can do so at any time by writing to us. If you don’t renew your annual subscription, your membership will lapse automatically 3 months after the renewal date.

If at any stage you stop being a member, you can ask to withdraw your £1 share, but Flo’s charge a £1 administrative fee for this so the net amount due to you is zero.

Community share holding investors
If you are already an investor-member holding community shares through Ethex you are already a member and don’t need to apply for membership of Flo’s separately. Investor-members are not required to pay an annual subscription; your membership continues for as long as you continue to hold community shares.
