We are currently looking for volunteers in the following roles. This list is not complete – so let us know if you’d like to volunteer in a different way.
CRAFT SHOP VOLUNTEERS
Very soon, Flo’s will be opening a small craft materials stall on a weekly basis, to support craft making and help us raise funds that will contribute towards keeping Flo’s open for everyone.
If you are interested in supporting us in this way for 2 hours a week, Flo’s please get in touch! We are looking for people who can give a regular weekly commitment from November onwards, or are willing to offer cover as needed.
No previous experience is needed. We will provide you with shop training and will supervise you on your first shift, you will never be left alone in the building and there is an endless supply of tea and biscuits! Regular time we need volunteers are:
- Tuesdays 2:30pm-4:30pm
- Wednesday 10am-12pm
- Thursday 2:30-4:30pm
- Sunday 2:30-4:30pm
GARDEN AND BUILDING VOLUNTEERS
Flo’s is very lucky to have a large and beautiful garden- with a walnut tree, beds edible herbs, a little lawn and many flowers. We need help with regular tasks like weeding, watering, mowing, washing, sweeping etc.
Flo’s building needs people to look out for it and take good care of it. There are several different ways you can help, but some of the regular tasks which we will need help with are:
- Making the notice boards look great
- Deep cleaning every now and then
- Emergency light testing once per month
- LOTS MORE!
We’re looking for people who want to help us make sure Flo’s is serving a wide range of needs within our diverse community. This will include going to events, flyering, chatting to people and supporting our outreach programmes develop.
Are you interested in building your skills in communications and marketing? We are looking for someone with a reasonable level of experience to lend a hand with any or all of the following:
- Communicating what’s on at Flo’s via our website (Basic WP knowledge needed)
- Keeping our social media feeds (Facebook and Twitter) full with lovely images and information about all that’s happening at Flo’s (this would mean some content generation on your part)
- Putting up posters and flyers locally (and/or designing them)
This role would suits someone who can contribute little and often, who is looking for opportunities to build up their digital communications experience. There would be occasional meetings at Flo’s and lots of practical support. It would particularly suit someone building up their digital comms portfolio of clients for experience or their CV.
