About and Impact
Flo’s - The Place in the Park is a community hub which exists to provide better local ethical opportunities for people to work, eat, play, learn and connect whilst improving equity and protecting the planet. As a charitable Community Benefit Society, we are owned by the community and run with community needs at our heart.
Our Purpose
To serve the community
We aim to strengthen our community by embracing diversity, delivering valuable services, and bringing people together in our space through local partnerships.
To improve equity
Through participatory practices, as both an employer and a community organisation, we seek to understand and overcome barriers to equity for those we serve.
To protect the planet
We are committed to playing our part in tackling the climate crisis by reducing carbon, reducing waste, and protecting and enhancing local wildlife and nature.
Our organisational values
Teamwork
We work as one team and through supportive cooperation, power-sharing and mutual respect, we take collective responsibility to achieve our goals in a healthy and sustainable way.
Curiosity
We value learning at every stage of life and work with curiosity and ambition. We listen critically, reflect and grow to strengthen our competence in all areas of work, being the best that we can be for each other and the people we serve.
Accountability
We take ownership of our responsibility to each other, our community, and service users through working reflectively and with integrity.
Courage
We are not afraid to have difficult conversations. We aim to identify and understand the challenges in our community, and respond resourcefully and with hope. We work together to bring about change and address the needs presented to us.
Inclusion
We create a space where individuals and groups feel welcomed, heard, respected, supported and valued in order to fully participate.

Our Strategic Framework for change
Every day, we witness both the cultural richness of our areas, alongside significant inequity for some living in our community. Our five year strategic framework brings focus to the key areas where we can make the greatest impact: serving the community, improving equity, protecting the environment, and striving to be the best employers we can be from our home here in Florence Park.
Flo’s five year strategic framework commits us to tackling issues of equity through participatory practices and by amplifying the often unheard voices of our local communities in OX4.
